Occupational Therapist – Specialist Children’s Services

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting young people up to 18 years old who experience mental health difficulties and neurodevelopmental challenges. Based in North CAMHS at Woodside Health & Care Centre, you will join a growing multidisciplinary team delivering specialist occupational therapy services.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a defined caseload, delivering assessment, planning and implementation of occupational therapy interventions for children and young people.
- Work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency team to ensure coordinated care.
- Use clinical reasoning to assess needs, develop treatment plans and evaluate outcomes in line with best practice.
- Communicate complex information clearly and compassionately to children, families and professionals.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service data collection, audit and clinical governance activities.
- Support and supervise students and healthcare support workers as appropriate.
- Contribute to continuous service development through participation in training, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the appropriate professional body.
- Strong interest in working with children and young people with mental health and neurodevelopmental issues.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice and evidence‑based interventions.
- Willingness to support and supervise students or support staff.
