Occupational Therapist – Specialist SEND School (Band 6‑7)

About the role

Join a specialist SEND school in Hackney as an Occupational Therapist, delivering therapy programmes for pupils aged 3‑19 across three sites. The position starts on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis from September.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan and resource occupational therapy programmes tailored to individual pupils.
• Deliver one‑to‑one, small‑group and whole‑class therapeutic sessions.
• Provide in‑the‑moment support within classroom environments.
• Collaborate with teachers, senior leadership, external professionals and families.
• Design and deliver whole‑staff training on OT strategies and best practice.
• Contribute to the successful operation of the school as directed by senior leadership.

Required profile

• HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist.
• Strong knowledge of OT practice within educational settings.
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND, including complex learning, physical and sensory needs.
• Ability to work with pupils who have severe or profound needs.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
