Occupational Therapy Support Worker – Western General Hospital

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Occupational Therapy Support Worker to join the Occupational Therapy team at the Western General Hospital. The role is part‑time, permanent and involves supporting a range of clinical areas within an acute hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapists across surgical, cardiorespiratory, critical care and infectious diseases units.
• Implement functional rehabilitation programmes and provide general rehabilitation support to patients.
• Carry out administrative duties and maintain accurate patient records.
• Provide weekend and bank‑holiday cover as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Occupational Therapy assistant or within OT/Physiotherapy in an acute hospital.
• Excellent communication, organisational and computer skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• PVG Scheme membership (or willingness to obtain it).

Required skills

• Computer literacy for data entry and documentation.
