Occupational Therapy Support Worker – Western General Hospital

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Support Worker to join the Occupational Therapy team at the Western General Hospital. The role involves supporting therapists across a range of clinical areas, including surgical, cardiorespiratory, critical care, and infectious diseases units.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapists in delivering functional rehabilitation programmes.
• Perform general rehabilitation tasks and administrative duties.
• Provide coverage on four weekdays and be available for weekend and bank‑holiday shifts.
• Contribute to staff development through appraisal, supervision and CPD activities.

Required profile

• Experience working on acute hospital wards.
• Previous role as an Occupational Therapy assistant or within OT/Physiotherapy.
• Strong communication, organisational and computer skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• PVG Scheme membership or willingness to obtain it.
