Ocean Coordinator

About the role

Join the Ocean Team at Nippon Express UK and take full ownership of ocean import and export shipments. You will ensure seamless operations, accurate documentation, and exceptional service throughout the shipment lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end ocean freight (FCL and LCL) for import and export, coordinating with overseas offices and ensuring timely documentation.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication and proactive issue resolution.
• Monitor shipment progress, track ETDs and milestones, and keep internal systems updated with real‑time information.
• Collaborate with agents, shipping lines, customs authorities, and other logistics partners to guarantee smooth operations.
• Prepare, issue, and control transport documents while maintaining compliance with operational standards.
• Ensure accurate billing by preparing invoices, validating costs, and processing supplier invoices promptly.

Required profile

• Practical experience in ocean freight or logistics with a solid understanding of import and export processes.
• Strong digital aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, staying organized and communicating confidently.
• Proactive, solution‑focused mindset with a willingness to improve processes.
