Online Assistant – Retail Store

About the role

As an Online Assistant you will support Sainsbury’s online shoppers by preparing their orders in store, handling queries and ensuring a smooth delivery experience. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, often starting early, and be the link between the shop floor and the customer’s doorstep.

Key responsibilities

• Pick and select high‑quality products for online orders, providing suitable substitutions when items are out of stock.
• Use a handheld device to follow a store route, track picking time and ensure order accuracy.
• Process customer queries, load delivery vans and assist Home Delivery drivers.
• Maintain a clean, organised store area and keep product displays tidy.
• Develop product knowledge to offer recommendations and promote promotions.

Required profile

• Above school‑leaver age in the UK and right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to start early shifts (as early as 4 am) and work flexible hours.
• Physically able to lift and move containers up to 15 kg.
• Friendly, enthusiastic and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable using digital tools and learning new technology.
