Operational Support Technician - East

About the role

Affinity Water is looking for an experienced Operational Support Technician to join its Clacton team in the Customer Delivery directorate, within the Streetworks, Planning and Stores Team reporting to the Operations Support Manager. The role delivers customer delivery performance commitments by efficiently planning work, resources and managing stock.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain physical stock (yard stock, van stock and materials) at the right level to meet works service level agreements (SLAs)
• Plan all network-related works in a timely and cost-effective way
• Manage day-to-day depot and stores operations safely, store equipment and materials according to water quality and safety regulations, and use plant and machinery where needed
• Pick, load and deliver materials to locations as required
• Process purchase orders efficiently and resolve queries about stores and inventory without delay
• Issue and close highways permits so that SLAs are met
• Resolve internal and external queries on street works and planning, escalating issues appropriately

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to other company sites, deliver fittings to repair and maintenance teams and pre-cone when required
• Experience in a stock-controlled environment and in processing purchase orders and maintaining inventory systems
• Water industry knowledge and experience desirable

Required skills

• Proficiency in IT software including Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Oracle Fusion, Maximo and the Insight Traffic Management system

What we offer

• Salary of £27,505 - £31,505 depending on skills and experience
• Mon to Thursday 08:00-16:00, Friday 08:00-15:30
