Operations Coordinator – Delivery & Route Planning

About the role

A leading UK wholesaler is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join its Surrey office. The role focuses on planning and optimising daily delivery routes, coordinating transport operations and providing broader operational support.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and optimise daily delivery routes for a fleet of ~20 vehicles handling 200+ orders per day.
• Analyse destinations, vehicle capacity, driver hours and customer requirements to improve efficiency.
• Communicate routes and special instructions to drivers and arrange alternative solutions via third‑party transport partners.
• Support compliance activities, driver debriefs, customer queries and delivery discrepancy resolution.
• Maintain accurate operational records and documentation in line with audit requirements.
• Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operational planning.
• Provide general operational and administrative support as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of transport route planning experience in the UK.
• Strong knowledge of UK geography and road networks.
• Understanding of HGV/van operations and relevant legislation (beneficial).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational ability and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Professional telephone manner and good interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.

What we offer

• Salary £32,000–£35,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
• Office‑based role in Surrey, Monday‑Friday 12:00‑20:00.
• Permanent, full‑time contract.
