Operations Manager - Co-Pack Supply Chain

About the role

Beiersdorf UK Ltd is looking for an operations manager to lead co-pack operations in Birmingham. The role covers people leadership, stakeholder management, operational delivery, continuous improvement, resource and budget management, and health, safety, environment and quality. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop operational teams, team leaders and support functions, including training, performance reviews, succession planning and talent development
• Manage agency labour performance and build relationships with Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, Quality, SHE and external suppliers
• Act as the key operational contact for co-pack activity and escalations, and support seasonal peaks, gifting programmes and customer initiatives
• Lead co-pack operations across multiple shifts to deliver production plans safely and efficiently, achieving productivity, quality, service and cost targets
• Monitor KPIs, drive corrective actions, ensure inventory accuracy and material availability, and lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage labour, overtime, agency spend and operational budgets, and monitor financial performance
• Champion a safety-first culture, ensure compliance with COMAH and legislation, lead audits, risk assessments and incident investigations, and maintain quality standards
• Support site security, contractor management, emergency response and out-of-hours escalation, and provide leadership during incidents and emergencies

Required profile

• 5+ years' experience in Operations, Production, Warehouse or Supply Chain Management within FMCG, manufacturing or logistics
• Proven experience leading large, multi-shift teams
• Experience managing labour, budgets and operational performance
• Lean/continuous improvement experience
• IOSH Managing Safely essential; NEBOSH desirable
• COMAH, SAP and WMS experience advantageous

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of co-packing, production and supply chain operations
• Leadership, coaching, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
