Operations Manager – Multi‑Family Property Portfolio

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead a portfolio of multi‑family properties in London, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance and a high‑quality resident experience. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will act as the primary operational liaison between site teams and corporate functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational strategies for a portfolio of 4‑6 multi‑family properties (1,500‑2,000 units) to meet and exceed budgeted financial goals.
• Monitor budgeting, reforecasting and financial performance, analysing statements and addressing gaps.
• Lead site‑based teams (leasing, community managers, maintenance technicians), providing hiring, training and performance management.
• Conduct property inspections, quality and safety audits, and drive continuous service improvement based on resident satisfaction data.
• Manage procurement, service‑charge expenditures and capital requests, ensuring compliance with UK housing legislation.

Required profile

• Graduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Senior‑level experience leading multi‑site operations in property, hospitality, retail or related sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to bring new assets to operational performance and strong commercial awareness.
• Understanding of UK legislation such as the Housing Act 1988, Tenant Fees Act 2019, Building Safety Act 2022 and Renters’ Rights Act.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with property management systems such as Entrata, Yardi or Vantify.
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualification.
