About the role
Vision Express is looking for a qualified optometrist to join its Bishop Auckland store. You will work in a modern retail environment equipped with state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic tools, delivering high‑quality eye care to a diverse customer base.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using OCT, Phoropter and Fundus Camera.
- Provide accurate diagnoses and recommend appropriate corrective lenses or treatments.
- Maintain patient records in line with GOC standards.
- Collaborate with store team to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
Required profile
- Qualified and GOC‑registered optometrist.
- Strong clinical expertise with the ability to build patient confidence.
- Team‑oriented attitude and willingness to share ideas.

What we offer
- Salary up to £73,000 per year (based on experience).
- Car allowance of £4,000.
- Flexible full‑time or part‑time hours.
