Outreach Tutor – 1:1 Support for SEN Pupils

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic Outreach Tutors to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for young people without a school placement in Bournemouth and Poole. You will design and deliver tailored lessons that re‑engage disengaged learners, many of whom have special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Create, plan and deliver personalised 1:1 lessons to bridge educational gaps.
• Provide tutoring in the pupil’s home or community setting, typically 10 hours per week per student.
• Submit weekly progress reports highlighting achievements, challenges and subject focus.
• Monitor and encourage pupil engagement and confidence.
• Collaborate with Prospero Teaching to ensure the sessions meet each pupil’s needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in a UK classroom or tuition setting.
• Experience supporting SEN pupils, especially with autism, SEMH or complex needs.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• References covering the last 24 months of employment.
