Outreach Tutor – SEN/SEMH Support (Part‑time)

About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic Outreach Tutors to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for students aged 4‑25 with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges across Oxfordshire. You will work flexibly, tailoring sessions to each learner’s unique requirements and supporting their academic and personal development.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver personalised tuition sessions that address individual learning needs.
- Develop bespoke learning plans in collaboration with teachers, parents and external professionals.
- Provide emotional and social support, fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Monitor progress, keep accurate records and adapt strategies as required.
- Coordinate with schools, families and agencies to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Required profile
- PGCE and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience working with SEN and/or SEMH learners.
- Strong understanding of a range of SEN/SEMH conditions and effective interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule and adapt to varying student needs.
