Overnight Helpline Counsellor

About the role
Join a leading Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider as an Overnight Helpline Counsellor. You will work remotely, delivering 24/7 emotional support to callers across the private, public and non‑profit sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Provide immediate telephone counselling and emotional support during the 8 pm‑8 am shift.
- Conduct clinical assessments and sign‑post callers to appropriate services.
- Adopt a solution‑focused approach to achieve one‑call resolution where possible.
- Maintain accurate records of calls and follow organisational protocols.
Required profile
- Minimum Level 4 Diploma in Counselling with at least 150 counselling hours.
- At least 12 months post‑qualification experience.
- Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
- Previous experience working night shifts.
Required skills
- Strong telephone communication and active listening abilities.
- Ability to assess risk and provide appropriate sign‑posting.
- Solution‑focused counselling techniques.

- Salary £30,000‑£34,000 per year plus a £3,000 night allowance.
