Paralegal – Court of Protection (London)

About the role

A well‑established London law firm is seeking a Paralegal to join its Court of Protection team. The role provides exposure to a broad range of Court of Protection matters, supporting vulnerable clients and their families. It is ideal for someone who wants to develop a long‑term career in this specialist area.

Key responsibilities

• Support Court of Protection matters from file opening through ongoing management
• Draft correspondence, legal documents and client communications
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper case files
• Liaise with clients, families, the Office of the Public Guardian and third parties
• Manage incoming calls, emails and general queries
• Assist with financial administration and client account records
• Support preparation of reports for the Office of the Public Guardian
• Monitor deadlines, diaries and compliance requirements
• Assist with billing, time recording and file management
• Provide general administrative and case progression support

Required profile

• Genuine interest in Court of Protection work and a compassionate, client‑focused approach
• Previous legal experience (desirable, ideally Court of Protection, Private Client or similar)
• Law degree, LPC, CILEX or equivalent qualification (advantageous)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Empathetic, professional and discreet approach to client care
• Proactive and flexible working style
