Paralegal – Criminal Law (Salford Quays)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Paralegal to join a specialist criminal law practice in Salford Quays. The role offers hands‑on experience across criminal defence, Crown Court, Magistrates’ Court, prison and mental health law, with clear pathways to develop a long‑term legal career.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with case preparation, legal research and drafting legal documents.
• Manage case files and ensure accurate records are maintained.
• Liaise with clients, courts, prisons, hospitals and other external professionals.
• Respond to client enquiries and provide timely case updates.
• Support solicitors with day‑to‑day management of a varied caseload.
• Attend client meetings and, after training, accompany solicitors on prison and hospital visits where appropriate.
• Provide general legal and administrative support to ensure efficient case progress.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for a legal career and ability to thrive in a busy professional environment.
• Previous experience in a legal setting or a Law Degree, LPC, SQE or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Confident written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel to courts, prisons, hospitals and other locations.
