Paralegal – Lending Support (Guildford)

About the role

We are looking for a Paralegal to join our Lending team in Guildford. You will provide direct support to fee earners, helping to streamline the lending and property transaction process.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare correspondence and legal documents, often from digital dictation.
• Manage client filing systems, including opening, closing, storage and retrieval of files.
• Handle daily administrative tasks such as mail, copying, meeting arrangements and diary management for fee earners.
• Support meetings by preparing conference rooms, providing refreshments and clearing after use.
• Interact with clients and agents in person and by phone, updating and chasing information as required.
• Assist with completion statements, post‑exchange and pre‑completion formalities, including online form submissions (e.g., SDLT, Land Registry).
• Obtain information from local authorities and manage registration and post‑completion formalities.
• Contribute to departmental marketing and other non‑core activities.

Required profile

• Legal background with experience in lending or property law.
• High level of accuracy and ability to work at the pace of fee earners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, able to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Customer‑focused with a commitment to professional development.

Required skills

• Experience with Practice Evolve or similar case‑management systems.
