Paraplanner – Financial Planning (Edinburgh, Hybrid)

About the role

The Paraplanner will join a respected financial planning firm in Edinburgh, working on a hybrid model. You will provide technical support to advisers, helping to deliver tailored financial solutions and high‑quality client outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Produce suitability reports and recommendation letters aligned with client objectives.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis and develop cash‑flow planning models.
• Research and recommend investment, pension, protection and tax planning solutions.
• Maintain client files and back‑office systems throughout the advice process.
• Prepare annual review documentation, performance reports and updated cash‑flow models.
• Collaborate with advisers and administrators to ensure efficient new‑business processing.
• Liaise directly with clients, attend meetings when required, and support ongoing service.
• Build relationships with solicitors, accountants and other professional partners.
• Contribute to the improvement of report templates, technical standards and paraplanning processes.

Required profile

• Level 4 qualified Paraplanner with proven experience in financial planning.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication for report preparation.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage client interactions.

Required skills

• Financial analysis and cash‑flow modelling.
• Knowledge of investment, pension, protection and tax planning products.
• Proficiency in preparing suitability reports and recommendation letters.
