Paraplanner – Financial Planning Role

About the role

The paraplanner will join an established independent financial planning firm in Cumbria, supporting advisers with technical analysis and client documentation. The position is full‑time, permanent and hybrid, offering a clear progression route towards compliance or adviser roles.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare suitability and review reports, cash‑flow analysis and product research across pensions, investments, trusts and protection.
• Handle pension switches (excluding defined benefit) and investment switches, progressing to trust‑based work.
• Maintain accurate, compliant client records on Intelligent Office in line with FCA, GDPR and Consumer Duty standards.
• Collaborate with advisers and other paraplanners, sharing knowledge with the client‑services team.

Required profile

• Minimum two years in an IFA environment, already performing paraplanning tasks or an experienced paraplanner without full Level 4 qualification.
• Comfortable with pension and investment paperwork and eager to take on more technical responsibilities.
• Some exposure to Intelligent Office, CashCalc or FE Analytics, or a proven ability to learn quickly.
• Team‑player who thrives in a close‑knit, time‑recorded firm.
• Commutable to Carlisle or Penrith, or willing to relocate.
