Paraplanner – Technical Financial Planning Role

About the role

Ortus PSR is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join its forward‑thinking independent financial advice team in Glasgow. This position offers a supportive, technically focused environment where you can deepen your expertise on complex client cases while working a hybrid schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse complex client circumstances, objectives and risk profiles.
• Conduct detailed research across pensions, investments and protection solutions.
• Produce cash‑flow modelling and technical analysis to underpin advice strategies.
• Prepare high‑quality, compliant suitability and recommendation reports.
• Collaborate closely with advisers, constructively challenging recommendations where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date client records in back‑office systems.

Required profile

• GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
• Studying towards or holding the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning.
• Experience in an IFA or wealth‑management environment.
• Proven ability to produce suitability and recommendation reports.
• Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments and protection.
• Exposure to corporate or employee benefits is a plus, but not essential.
