Part-time Finance Manager (3 days/week)

About the role

Our client, a values‑led nonprofit based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, is seeking a qualified Finance Manager to work part‑time (Wednesday to Friday). You will lead the finance function, ensure accurate reporting and strong controls, and support strategic decision‑making across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function, including line and performance management.
• Prepare regular management accounts for group companies and provide clear financial insight.
• Manage budgets and cash flow, handling complex inter‑company arrangements.
• Oversee credit control, ensuring timely collection of debts and proactive risk management.
• Drive continuous improvement in finance systems and processes.
• Support month‑end and quarter‑end processes to maintain strong controls and accurate information.
• Collaborate with auditors, external stakeholders and the Finance Manager – Service Charges to meet statutory requirements.
• Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to support strategic actions within the corporate plan.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent experience).
• Strong technical accounting ability, analytical thinking and commercial judgement.
• Experience delivering financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Proven ability to build and develop teams with a collaborative leadership style.
• Confidence working with senior leadership and translating finance into practical guidance.

• Pro‑rated salary of approximately £27k per year (full‑time equivalent £45k).
