Part-time Year 2 Primary Teacher (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Year 2 primary teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. This part‑time, temporary position runs from September 2026 and involves teaching two days per week – Thursdays and Fridays – delivering the national curriculum to a Year 2 class.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for Year 2 pupils.
• Assess pupil progress and use data to inform teaching.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
• Experience teaching at Key Stage 1, preferably Year 2.
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
