About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Year 2 primary teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. This part‑time, temporary position runs from September 2026 and involves teaching two days per week – Thursdays and Fridays – delivering the national curriculum to a Year 2 class.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for Year 2 pupils.
- Assess pupil progress and use data to inform teaching.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Experience teaching at Key Stage 1, preferably Year 2.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Required skills
- Lesson planning and delivery.
- Assessment for learning.
- Classroom management.
- Use of educational technology (e.g., interactive whiteboards).
