Parts Manager – Classic Vehicle Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Parts Manager to lead the parts department of a specialist dealership that restores and supplies a limited‑edition classic vehicle. Based in Didcot, you will ensure the right components are available for service, restoration and enthusiast sales.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain optimal inventory levels of both common service items and rare, model‑specific components.
• Source hard‑to‑find parts from international suppliers, specialist importers and enthusiast networks.
• Forecast demand using service schedules, known vehicle issues and restoration projects.
• Oversee ordering, receipt, inspection and authentication of parts.
• Collaborate with the service manager and technicians to prioritise parts for repairs, minimising vehicle downtime.
• Handle over‑the‑counter and online sales, providing expert compatibility advice.
• Build and sustain relationships with key suppliers and specialist communities.
• Monitor pricing, promotions and stock obsolescence to maximise gross profit.
• Supervise and train parts staff on catalogues and inventory systems.
• Maintain accurate records, conduct stock audits and manage returns and warranty claims.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Parts Manager or in a similar automotive dealership role.
• Strong knowledge of automotive parts, especially for classic or niche vehicles.
• Demonstrated ability to source rare and obsolete components.
• Experience forecasting demand and managing inventory profitability.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation for owners and enthusiasts.
