Part‑Time Accounts Assistant – Leeds (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Part‑Time Accounts Assistant to join our finance team in Leeds. The role offers a hybrid working pattern with one day per week remote and involves supporting day‑to‑day accounting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Match, batch and code invoices
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve account queries
• Prepare and process supplier payments via BACS and cheques
• Maintain accurate purchase ledger records
• Assist with payment runs
• Support sales ledger activities
• Process CIS and subcontractor invoices, including retentions
• Complete bank reconciliations
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the wider finance team

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar finance role
• Strong numerical and data‑entry abilities with high attention to detail
• Good organisational and time‑management skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Proactive communication and problem‑solving approach

Required skills

• Xero accounting software
• Microsoft Excel
• Experience processing CIS and subcontractor invoices (desirable)
• Construction industry exposure (desirable)
• AAT qualification or equivalent (desirable)
