About the role
The charity is seeking a part‑time Clerk/Company Secretary to support its Board of Trustees. The role involves around 10 hours per week, primarily remote, with four quarterly face‑to‑face meetings in the Skipton area.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare agendas and attend Board meetings, taking and circulating minutes for approval.
- Implement Trustees’ decisions, especially those relating to the charity’s land and property holdings.
- Provide advice and briefing material to Trustees to facilitate effective decision‑making.
- Administer payments, including grant disbursements, using dual‑signatory procedures.
- Work with accountants to prepare the Annual Return and statutory accounts.
- Maintain statutory records, file required documents and manage the charity’s website and social media.
- Draft press releases in consultation with the Chairman.
Required profile
- Experience in charity or corporate secretarial administration.
- Ability to work independently and manage a small part‑time workload.
- Comfort with occasional travel to Skipton for quarterly meetings.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
