Part‑time First Team Doctor – Premier League Club

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Sports Doctor to join our medical department on a part‑time basis. Working three days per week at the Nigel Doughty Academy, you will support the Head Doctor in delivering clinical care to the Men’s First Team squad and contribute to player health, injury prevention, and performance optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑level clinical care to First Team players during on‑site days.
• Assist with daily medical screenings, injury assessments and acute illness management.
• Coordinate with physiotherapy and sports science teams for holistic player welfare.
• Maintain electronic medical records in line with GMC and Premier League standards.
• Support cardiac screening, head‑injury assessments, baseline testing and other mandatory medical protocols.
• Provide medical cover on match days, including acting as Tunnel Doctor when required.
• Cover Women’s team and Academy sessions as needed.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in elite sport, preferably professional football.
• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with GMC registration.
• Commitment to three on‑site days per week and flexibility for weekends/evenings.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Sports & Exercise Medicine or Emergency Medicine is an advantage.
• Current ATMMiF certification.
