Part‑time Health & Safety Coordinator (1‑2 days/week)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Health & Safety Coordinator to join our growing business on a part‑time basis (1‑2 days per week). You will work closely with management and staff to ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and to foster a strong safety culture across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and internal procedures.
• Carry out workplace inspections and audits, identify hazards and recommend improvements.
• Assist with risk assessments, safe systems of work and method statements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses and support corrective actions.
• Maintain health and safety records, documentation and training registers.
• Support inductions, toolbox talks and promote safe working practices.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, fire safety and first‑aid arrangements.
• Support external audits and inspections.
• Provide practical health and safety advice to managers and employees.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a health and safety role.
• Good knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
