Part‑time TA2 Teaching Assistant – Year 2 (Morning)

About the role

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic TA2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Nelson. This part‑time, morning‑only position supports a Year 2 class from September 2026, helping pupils achieve their full potential in a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within a Year 2 classroom.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Assist pupils with literacy, numeracy and classroom activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Help create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Support the class teacher in daily classroom tasks.

Required profile

• Hold a TA2 qualification or have relevant classroom experience.
• Previous experience working in a primary school setting.
• Confidence supporting Key Stage 1 pupils.
• Positive, patient and proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
