Passive Fire Protection Operative (Firestopper)

About the role

Ian Williams is seeking an experienced Passive Fire Protection Operative to join its Capital and Planned Refurbishment teams across Kent and London. You will carry out fire risk assessment remedial works, including fire stopping and cavity barrier installations, in a variety of residential and commercial settings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fire stopping on breaches and penetrations, including fire doors and large openings.
• Install cavity barriers and other passive fire protection measures.
• Work in confined spaces and tenant‑occupied homes while adhering to health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the FRA team to deliver projects for key clients.
• Maintain accurate records using a PDA and ensure compliance with best‑practice guidelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fire stopping and passive fire protection.
• NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection (preferred).
• Membership of FIRAS, IFC, BM TRADA or a similar scheme.
• Full, current UK driving licence.
• Ability to work professionally in varied environments, including social housing.
