Pastoral Care Volunteer - Aged Care Home, Cardiff

About the role

HammondCare is looking for pastoral care volunteers to support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly people living in a residential aged care home in Cardiff. You will be a Christian actively involved with a local Christian church, offering comfort, presence and hope. You will supplement and complement the work of the Residential Pastoral Care Coordinator, working under their direction.

Key responsibilities

• Support people to meet their spiritual needs
• Nurture spiritual development
• Visit residents regularly, with visits scheduled weekly or fortnightly depending on availability, between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday

Required profile

• Active Christian involved with a local Christian church in the area
• High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills
• Pastoral Care training such as Chaplaincy or Clinical Pastoral Education, or willingness to attend HammondCare pastoral care training
• NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
• Aged 18 or older
