Payroll Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to manage a portfolio of client payrolls for a growing accountancy practice. You will be responsible for delivering accurate payrolls on a weekly, fortnightly, four‑weekly and monthly basis while building strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Process end‑to‑end payroll for multiple clients, including starters, leavers, salary changes and statutory payments.
• Submit Real‑Time Information (RTI) to HMRC and handle auto‑enrolment and pension uploads.
• Act as the primary point of contact for payroll queries from clients and HMRC.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and support the wider payroll team.
• Contribute to the growth and continuous improvement of the payroll bureau.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a payroll bureau or accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP, SPP, Auto‑Enrolment, Benefits in Kind).
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with clients and HMRC.
