Payroll Data Integrity & Support Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Payroll Data Integrity & Support Specialist to join Royal Mail’s Pay Services team in Sheffield. You will work within the Data Integrity and Template Management team, ensuring that organisational structures, positions and payroll data are accurate, compliant and up‑to‑date while supporting the weekly and monthly payroll runs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage template records to keep organisational data current.
• Process and update payroll data including pay, overtime, absences, bonuses and deductions.
• Support weekly and monthly payroll runs, handling exceptions and rejections.
• Apply checks and controls to ensure payroll accuracy and reduce risk.
• Assist with business‑wide changes such as pay awards and restructures.
• Collaborate with Workforce Planning and line managers to uphold data integrity.
• Respond to queries and deliver high‑standard customer service.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to team discussions.

Required profile

• Detail‑focused and proactive individual comfortable in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment.
• Experience in payroll administration.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative approach with a focus on customer service.
• Understanding of payroll processes and business structures (desirable).

Required skills

• PSP payroll system (or similar) and MI reporting.
• Microsoft Excel and data manipulation.
