HR Operations Specialist (Hybrid, Sheffield)

About the role

We are looking for an HR Operations Specialist to become the operational heartbeat of our People team in Sheffield. The role is hybrid – three days a week in our city‑centre office and two days remote, with increased office presence during the probation period. Regular travel to our Lincoln and London offices (about two days a month) is required and fully covered.

Key responsibilities

• Own the operational side of the employee lifecycle, including contracts, onboarding, Right‑to‑Work checks, visa compliance and employee communications.
• Continuously improve People Operations processes to increase efficiency and employee experience.
• Act as the People team’s representative in the Sheffield office, managing facilities, office environment and engagement initiatives.
• Support office operations for our London and Lincoln locations when needed.
• Collaborate with the wider People team to ensure seamless delivery of HR services.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Manager, HR Officer or HR Generalist, with a strong preference for People Operations work.
• Self‑starter who spots opportunities for improvement and takes ownership without needing constant direction.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering a flawless employee experience.
• Reliable, proactive and comfortable working in a fast‑moving, people‑first environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of employment contracts, onboarding procedures and Right‑to‑Work/visa compliance.
• Familiarity with HR administration tools and employee communication platforms.
