Pension Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a portfolio of large, complex pension projects for a global financial services organisation. The role is client‑facing and will involve delivering implementations, benefit changes, and de‑risking initiatives across the Pensions Administration and Consulting remit.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of complex pension projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to a high level of client satisfaction.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, third‑party providers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide expert advice on pension scheme design, including Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and insured schemes.
• Lead cross‑service‑line collaboration, defining roles and responsibilities across business units and external partners.
• Control project scope, assess impact of changes, and adjust plans using established change‑management processes.
• Review high‑complexity project proposals, validate requirements and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate cross‑departmental resources, negotiate requirements and manage competing priorities.
• Support delivery leads with resource supply and demand planning.

Required profile

• Proven client‑facing project management experience, preferably within the pensions or broader financial services sector.
• Deep working knowledge of Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and insured pension schemes.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills, with the ability to act as a trusted adviser.
• Demonstrated ability to manage scope changes, resource constraints and stakeholder expectations.
