People and Culture Manager – Birmingham

About the role

The People and Culture Manager will work closely with the Chief of People and the Global Operations leadership team in Birmingham to design and deliver HR strategies that support business growth, operational excellence and high employee engagement across our international workshop, manufacturing and customer‑experience functions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary HR partner for Global Operations, providing strategic and day‑to‑day support for Workshop, Manufacturing, Customer Experience, Fulfilment and Operational Support teams.
• Lead organisational design, workforce planning, succession planning and initiatives that improve team effectiveness.
• Coach managers on performance management, objective setting, capability development and succession planning.
• Manage employee‑relations matters including investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, absence management and performance cases, ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation.
• Partner with managers to proactively address attendance, engagement and workplace challenges.
• Oversee recruitment for workshop, manufacturing, operations and customer‑service roles and deliver a seamless onboarding experience.
• Identify learning and development needs and support the creation of development programmes for future leaders.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR business partner or people manager within an operations‑focused environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, drive performance improvement and manage employee‑relations issues.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with both operational and corporate stakeholders.
