People Partner – HR Manager (3 days/week)

About the role

We are partnering with a prestigious international law firm to find a People Partner who will operate as the senior HR manager on a three‑day‑a‑week basis. This role blends day‑to‑day HR operations with strategic people development, reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the COO and Partners.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for all HR matters, providing guidance on employment law and best practice.
• Lead employee relations processes, including disciplinary, grievance and performance management.
• Develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and documentation.
• Manage the full recruitment cycle and coordinate onboarding and induction programmes.
• Oversee annual salary, bonus and performance appraisal reviews.
• Administer leave, absence and family‑leave processes and maintain accurate HR records.
• Produce HR reports and people analytics to support business decisions.
• Support workforce and succession planning, conduct exit interviews and analyse retention trends.
• Coach and develop employees, influence senior leaders and drive learning initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR generalist or business partner in a professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and influence organisational culture.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills, with a focus on employee development.
