Performance Test Engineer – Hybrid – Up to £525/day

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer to lead end‑to‑end performance testing for a modern web platform built on a microservices architecture. The role is outside IR35, initially for six months, and offers hybrid working in London.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the performance testing strategy.
• Design and execute load, stress, endurance, and capacity tests.
• Develop and maintain test scripts using JMeter or similar tools.
• Identify and analyse performance bottlenecks across applications and services.
• Collaborate with Development, QA, and DevOps teams to resolve issues and improve scalability.
• Produce clear performance reports and recommendations for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven performance testing experience in web‑based environments.
• Strong knowledge of performance testing frameworks and methodologies.
• Experience with microservices and API‑driven applications.
• Hands‑on expertise with JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, NeoLoad, or k6.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication skills.
