Performing Arts Lecturer (Further Education)

About the role

Reed is recruiting experienced Performing Arts Lecturers for a range of well‑established Further Education providers in Central London. This role offers the chance to shape aspiring performers’ skills, confidence and industry knowledge while supporting their academic and professional ambitions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality Performing Arts lessons across various levels.
• Teach programmes in theatre, drama, dance, musical theatre and related subjects.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate teaching records in line with college requirements.
• Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment.
• Support learners in developing practical performance, rehearsal and production skills.
• Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Performing Arts, Theatre, Drama, Acting, Musical Theatre, Dance or a related field.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Performing Arts in Further Education, Higher Education, Secondary Education or Adult Learning.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Passion for performing arts education and ability to engage learners of varying abilities.
