Peripatetic Nurse RGN

About the role

As a Peripatetic Nurse (RGN) you will travel across Basingstoke and the wider South East region to deliver the high clinical standards Barchester is known for. You will lead multidisciplinary teams on each shift, ensuring every resident receives the highest quality care. The role offers autonomy, the chance to develop personalised care plans and the opportunity to support new residents as they settle in.

Key responsibilities

• Travel between care homes to provide consistent, high‑quality nursing care.
• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams on each shift.
• Ensure all residents receive safe, person‑centred care.
• Support new residents during admission and settlement.
• Develop and review individual care plans addressing physical and mental health needs.
• Mentor team members to enhance their clinical skills.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration.
• Teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification.
• Up‑to‑date clinical knowledge and a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience creating care plans and detailed risk assessments.
• Dedicated, ambitious and able to lead by example.
• Excellent communication skills to motivate teams.

Required skills

• Safe administration of medicines.
• Knowledge of Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Familiarity with NMC standards.
