Peripatetic Nurse (RGN/RMN) – Bank Position in Care Homes

About the role

This casual, part‑time bank role offers flexible working across the North West region. As a Peripatetic Nurse you will travel to Barchester care homes, delivering high‑quality clinical care and supporting multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and oversee the delivery of safe medication administration in each care home.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary staff to maintain high clinical standards.
• Develop and review personalised care plans and risk assessments for residents.
• Support new residents during admission and help them settle into the home.
• Cover staffing gaps caused by annual leave, sickness or other absences.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with a current NMC registration.
• Teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification.
• Strong, up‑to‑date clinical knowledge and understanding of regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience in producing care plans and detailed risk assessments.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, can‑do attitude.

Required skills

• Safe administration of medicines
• Knowledge of Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines
• Familiarity with NMC standards
