Personal Advisor – Young Adults

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Personal Advisor to join our Social Care and Safeguarding team in Bury. The role focuses on supporting children and young people in care, as well as care leavers, helping them navigate the transition to independent adulthood.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and support individual care and pathway plans through collaboration with the team, home visits and direct assistance.
• Provide unbiased advice on education, training, accommodation and update pathway plans to prepare young people for adulthood.
• Deliver statutory services to care leavers, manage cases and ensure access to necessary support services.
• Organise group activities, develop social and learning opportunities and advocate on behalf of children and young people.
• Maintain accurate case records, attend inter‑agency meetings and manage cases in line with departmental policies.

Required profile

• Experience in social care, particularly with children and young people.
• Strong understanding of the needs of children in care and care leavers.
• Flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with a diverse range of individuals and organisations.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

What we offer

• Full‑time temporary contract (37 hours per week).
• Working hours: 08:45 – 17:00.
• Hourly rate of £16.35.
