Personal Injury Claims Handler – Hybrid (Sevenoaks/Liverpool)

About the role

Join Acorn Insurance's Personal Injury (PI) team to manage a diverse portfolio of motor and injury claims. Working hybrid from Sevenoaks or Liverpool, you will handle third‑party personal injury claims from inception through settlement while supporting junior colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Take accountability for personal performance against set objectives.
• Validate all claims for indemnity and fraud.
• Provide proactive and accurate liability assessments.
• Conduct precise quantum assessments using available tools.
• Apply accurate reserves in line with company guidelines.
• Coach and mentor less‑experienced claims handlers.
• Adhere to best practice and key strategies.
• Manage files and portfolios effectively.
• Undertake ad‑hoc tasks as required by the business.

Required profile

• Ability to work in a culture of openness, trust and respect.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
• Proven ability to fact‑find and analyse information for accurate decision‑making.
• Experience handling injury claims outside the Low Value Personal Injury Claims Portal.
• Knowledge of civil procedure rules regarding offers, acceptances and litigation risks.
