Personal Tax Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Personal Tax Manager to join our Watford team and support the firm’s growth. You will work closely with Tax Principals and senior colleagues to deliver high‑quality tax services to complex personal, partnership and trust clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review personal, partnership and trust tax returns for complex clients.
• Liaise with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored tax advice.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and assist clients in implementing solutions.
• Manage HMRC enquiries and compliance checks.
• Review work produced by junior team members and provide guidance.
• Collaborate with multiple teams and principals on ad‑hoc advisory projects.

Profile

• CTA qualified or equivalent.
• 2+ years post‑qualification experience in personal tax.
• Proven experience in a personal tax practice.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage junior staff.
• Ability to handle a client portfolio and drive tax planning initiatives.
• Up‑to‑date technical tax knowledge demonstrated through recent training.

Required skills

• CTA qualification.
• Proficiency with Digita tax software.
• Advanced IT skills (e.g., Excel, tax compliance tools).
• Expertise in personal tax compliance and planning.
• Experience handling HMRC enquiries.
