Personal Tax Senior Manager

About the role

This senior leadership position sits within a growing accountancy practice in Egham, Surrey. You will manage a portfolio of personal tax clients while supporting the wider tax team and collaborating directly with Partners on advisory and strategic matters.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver high‑quality personal tax compliance for a dedicated client portfolio.
• Support Tax Partners in providing a broad range of advisory services to existing and new clients.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the client base and increase firm profitability.
• Build and maintain long‑term client relationships through regular communication.
• Plan workflow and ensure smooth operation of the tax function.
• Review work prepared by junior staff, ensuring technical accuracy.
• Mentor and develop team members through coaching and performance appraisals.
• Conduct technical research on complex tax legislation and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Significant experience in a UK accountancy practice tax role.
• Strong technical knowledge of personal tax and ability to advise on complex matters.
• Proven portfolio management and client‑relationship skills.
• Experience leading and reviewing junior staff work.
• Commercial awareness with a track record of identifying growth opportunities.
• Organised, proactive and able to juggle multiple priorities.
