Philanthropy Advisor – Part‑time (Edinburgh)

About the role

Christian Aid is seeking a part‑time Philanthropy Advisor to join its Scotland team. Working on a fixed‑term contract until April 2027, you will help the organisation achieve its ambitious income targets by stewarding existing donors and cultivating new major‑gift prospects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality stewardship to current supporters, including major donors, trusts and wealth advisors.
• Identify, engage and secure new 5‑ and 6‑figure gifts across Scotland and a few national prospects.
• Develop and submit compelling proposals and impact reports.
• Maintain a portfolio of supporters, tracking relationships and giving patterns.
• Collaborate closely with the Scotland team and the wider UK Philanthropy team.
• Report to the Senior Philanthropy Advisor based in North England.

Required profile

• Proven track record of successful fundraising from major donors or related fundraising experience.
• Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Ability to produce persuasive proposals and detailed reports.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and confident in engaging new prospects.
• Commitment to Christian Aid’s values of dignity, equality, justice and love.
