Pipefitter – 12‑month contract in Glasgow

About the role

Our client, a leading defence and security organisation, is looking for an experienced Pipefitter to join a 12‑month contract in Glasgow. The role involves fabricating, installing and testing pipework systems on naval vessels within BAE shipbuilding facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and install pipework systems to exact specifications.
• Test and commission pipework to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Interpret engineering drawings and schematics accurately.
• Collaborate with a skilled multidisciplinary team on a high‑stakes defence project.
• Work shifts and overtime as required to meet project deadlines.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a pipefitter in marine, shipbuilding or heavy engineering environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in pipefitting or a related trade.
• Valid trade papers or apprenticeship certificates.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime.
• Capability to obtain BPSS/security clearance.
