Plant Manager

About the role

As Plant Manager you will lead the Herreschoff and Polarite production sites, ensuring safe, compliant and cost-effective operations while meeting production targets and quality standards. You will be responsible for EHS performance, operational efficiency, budgeting and capital projects, driving continuous improvement across the plants.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of calcining and surface‑treated calcined production, optimizing costs annually.
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation (HASAWA) and environmental standards, maintaining ISO 14001 certification.
• Manage and report incidents using the Enablon system and maintain statutory documentation.
• Deliver production to agreed specifications and uphold ISO 9001 quality accreditation.
• Prepare, review and present annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets and monthly cost reviews, achieving or exceeding targets.
• Lead, coach and develop the plant workforce, including recruitment, training, performance development plans and succession planning.
• Coordinate capital projects, conduct HAZOP studies and drive project best practices.
• Engage with commercial teams, customers, community representatives and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale industrial production facilities.
• Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, cost control and capital projects.
• Excellent leadership and people‑development skills.
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
