Plant Operative – Groundworker for Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Plant Operative / Groundworker to join our team in Falkirk. You will play a key part in delivering high‑quality infrastructure works, supporting groundworks, drainage and plant activities on a variety of construction sites.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out groundworks including excavation, drainage installation, and reinstatement.
• Install foul and surface‑water drainage, manholes and gullies, and lay pipes to correct levels and falls.
• Mix, pour and finish concrete for bases, slabs, footings and kerbs.
• Operate plant machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Backfill, compact and reinstate completed works to required standards.
• Read and work from drawings, plans and site instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area and follow all health & safety procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in groundworks, drainage, excavation and reinstatement.
• Ability to read construction drawings and follow site instructions.
• Practical concreting experience (mixing, placing, finishing).
• Reliable team player with strong attention to detail.
• Relevant site safety training (e.g., First Aid, Manual Handling) is desirable.
