Plasterer / Multi‑Skilled Operative – Social Housing Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Plasterer / Multi‑Skilled Operative to join our social housing maintenance team. You will deliver high‑quality plaster repairs, skimming and general trade maintenance across occupied and void properties, ensuring homes are left clean and to a top‑spec finish.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out patch plastering, full wall and ceiling skimming, and re‑plastering after damp‑proof courses.
• Prepare surfaces by hacking off old render, applying PVA/bonding coats and setting beads.
• Repair water‑damaged ceilings, blown plaster and install drywall/tackboard where required.
• Respond to reactive service calls within designated timeframes and turn around void properties to lettable standards.
• Record job progress, upload before/after photos and log materials using a mobile PDA/handheld device.
• Work respectfully in occupied homes, using sheeting and dust extraction to maintain cleanliness.
• Adhere strictly to Health & Safety standards, including COSHH, manual handling and PPE.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a plasterer on domestic maintenance or social housing contracts.
• Full UK driver’s licence and own core tools.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plastering or equivalent time‑served qualification.

Required skills

• Plastering and patch repair techniques.
• Wall and ceiling skimming, re‑plastering after damp‑proof courses.
• Surface preparation (hacking, PVA coating, bead setting).
• Repair of water‑damaged ceilings.
• Drywall/tackboard installation.
• Use of mobile PDA/handheld device for job recording.
